The lawyer-client relationship is one of mutual trust. Resolving legal issues can be a
lengthy process and is often a burden to all parties involved. This is why retaining the right
lawyer is so important.
I studied law at the University of Basel and passed the bar exam in the canton of Basel in
1996. After a long and interesting career in multilateral security policy and law enforcement
which eventually led to the position of Chief of Police in the canton of Aargau, I started my
own law practice and consulting firm in Zürich. Having spent my formative years abroad
and having worked with people of many nationalities throughout the course of my career, I
have a deep understanding of other cultures, their customs and expectations. I speak and
write German, English, French, Spanish and Dutch.
As an attorney, I am committed to representing the individual interests of my clients by putting to use my broad experience in the fields of criminal and police law. I regard the law as a means of settling matters and concentrate on achieving personalised and efficient solutions. I specialise in the following fields:
As a security consultant, my extensive experience in law enforcement, the military and international relations enables me to advise clients from the public and private sectors as well as NGOs. The focus of this work lies in the development and implementation of security-related training, the oversight of organisational projects in the security sector as well as counseling leaders and decision makers.
I also assist with the implementation of viable frameworks for crisis management and contingency planning with the goal of enabling my clients to be prepared for the unexpected so that they can act in an appropriate and timely manner.

Processing of personal data
I process your personal data only within the framework of the data processing principles and if a legal basis exists. Where it serves the initiation and execution of a contract, this legal basis applies. In addition, I have an interest in continuously improving my offers and adapting them to your needs. This is a necessity in order to further develop my offers, for statistical purposes and to ensure the security of my offers. I assume that my interests prevail.
In the context of a website visit, I also collect the following necessary data:
All information that you explicitly provide in the context of an email request (name, address, age, gender, contact details, texts, photos, images, etc.);
Cookies, which I use on my website, can be found in this privacy policy under the title IV "Information on the use of cookies".
I do not engage in profiling on my website in the sense of automated processing of personal data, which consists of using this data to evaluate certain personal aspects of you (e.g. to analyze or predict your job performance, economic situation, health, personal preferences, interests, reliability, behavior, location or change of location), and collect or process particularly sensitive personal data (e.g. about religious, political or ideological views, health status, etc.) only exceptionally and in this case limited to contractual or legal obligations.
Disclosure to third parties
Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. Exceptions to this are my service partners that I need to process the contractual relationship (e.g. financial institutions to process payments, the post office, courier services or freight forwarders to ship material, cloud services to provide and guarantee the digital infrastructure, etc.). In these cases, I strictly comply with the requirements of applicable data protection laws. The scope of data transfer is limited to a minimum.
The use of service partners in countries other than Switzerland or the member states of the European Economic Area is only an option for me if the respective country either has an equivalent level of data protection according to the country list of the Federal Council or if I can contractually ensure the equivalence of the level of protection (e.g., through contracts or the conclusion of so-called standard contractual clauses).
Communications, notifications and updates
Communications for Informational and Other Purposes: I will send you communications that are required or necessary for all customers, notices that contain important information, and other communications that you request from me. You may not opt out of these communications. However, you may be able to customize the media and format through which you receive the notifications.
Transmission of personal data
Unless otherwise expressly agreed, electronic communications will be made via non-encrypted e-mails. The use of e-mails is not technically secure; e-mails may not be delivered. When e-mails are transmitted, they may leave national borders, even if both the sender and recipient are in Germany. The confidentiality of e-mails cannot be guaranteed if encryption is missing or insufficient.
By sending an e-mail, you consent to communication via e-mail in full knowledge of the risks described. The use of encrypted or otherwise secured communication channels must be agreed with me in advance.
